OUTDOOR WATER TAP INSTALL & REPAIR - VAUGHAN, TORONTO & THE GTA
Outdoor Water Tap Installation & Repair in Vaughan — Frost-Free, Licensed
New outdoor taps installed correctly. Dripping or frozen hose bibs repaired fast. Aviv Plumbing serves Vaughan, Toronto, and the GTA — same-day service available.
An outdoor water tap seems like a simple thing — until it freezes in winter, bursts in spring, or drips all summer. In the GTA’s climate, outdoor taps must be frost-free models installed correctly with proper indoor shut-off access to survive our winters without damage.
Aviv Plumbing installs and repairs outdoor hose bibs and frost-free sillcocks for homes and businesses across Vaughan, Toronto, and the Greater Toronto Area. Whether you’re adding a new outdoor tap, replacing an old standard tap with a frost-free model, or repairing one that’s dripping or cracked, we handle it with the same licensed, upfront-pricing approach we bring to every job.
Fall is the right time to have outdoor taps inspected and shut off. Spring is the right time to have them checked before the season starts. We see a lot of cracked hose bibs in late March — most of them were preventable.
WHEN TO CALL
- Your outdoor tap drips even when fully closed
- You don't have a frost-free tap and Ontario winters are a risk
- Your hose bib is more than 15 years old and has never been replaced
- You want to add a tap to a side of the house that doesn't have one
- Your tap has visible cracks or corrosion
- You can't locate an indoor shut-off for your outdoor tap — a risk in emergencies
- Low flow from your outdoor tap compared to indoor fixtures
WHAT WE DO
- Frost-free sillcock installation — new installations and replacements
- Standard hose bib replacement with frost-free model
- Additional outdoor tap installation — new location, new supply line
- Dripping tap repair — cartridge or valve seat replacement
- Cracked or burst hose bib replacement
- Indoor shut-off valve installation for existing outdoor taps without one
- Backflow preventer installation on outdoor taps — required by code in some configurations
- Fall winterization check and shut-off service
HOW IT WORKS
Step 1 — Assess the Existing Setup: We check your current tap type, condition, and whether a proper indoor shut-off exists. We give you a clear recommendation and price.
Step 2 — Correct Installation: All outdoor taps we install are frost-free models installed to the correct depth — typically 6 to 8 inches into the heated envelope of the home — so the water inside the pipe drains back when shut off.
Step 3 — Indoor Shut-Off and Backflow: We ensure a proper indoor shut-off valve is accessible and install a backflow preventer on the outdoor connection where required by code.
Step 4 — Test and Demonstrate: We test flow and shut-off before we leave and show you where the indoor shut-off is located so you can winterize it properly each fall.
WHY AVIV?
Frost-Free by Default
We never install a standard hose bib on an Ontario home. Frost-free models are the only correct choice for our climate — and we install them to the right depth.
Same-Day in Most Cases
Most outdoor tap repairs and replacements are same-day jobs. We carry frost-free hose bibs in our vans for immediate installation.
Licensed Plumbers
Outdoor tap installation involves penetrating your home’s exterior and connecting to your supply line. It’s plumbing work — and it should be done by licensed plumbers.
