DRAIN REPLACEMENT - VAUGHAN, TORONTO & THE GTA

Drain Replacement in Vaughan — Aging Drains Replaced by Licensed Plumbers

Corroded cast iron, cracked ABS, and failing drain connections replaced correctly by Aviv Plumbing. Serving Vaughan, Toronto, and the GTA.

Drain pipes don’t last forever. Cast iron drain systems in older GTA homes accumulate scale over decades until flow is severely restricted. ABS plastic connections from the 1980s and 90s crack and shift with the natural settling of the home. Clay tile sewer connections deteriorate and admit tree root intrusion. All of these eventually need replacement.

Aviv Plumbing provides drain replacement services for homes and businesses across Vaughan, Toronto, and the Greater Toronto Area. Whether it’s a single corroded drain under a sink, a section of cast iron floor drain in a basement, or a full interior drain system replacement, our licensed plumbers assess the scope correctly and replace what needs replacing — not more.

We always use drain camera inspection to assess the condition of drain systems before recommending replacement work. You’ll see exactly what we’re dealing with before a decision is made.

WHEN TO CALL

WHAT WE DO

HOW IT WORKS

Step 1 — Camera Assessment First: We run a camera through the drain system to map what we’re dealing with — where the problems are, how extensive the scale or damage is, and what scope of replacement is genuinely needed.

Step 2 — Clear Options and Pricing: We present the options — targeted section replacement vs broader scope — with honest pricing for each. You make the decision with full information.

Step 3 — Professional Replacement: We replace drain sections using current-code PVC pipe with correct slope, support, and connections. Transitions between old cast iron and new PVC are made correctly with approved couplings.

Step 4 — Verify and Document: We run a final camera pass after replacement to confirm the new system is clear, correctly graded, and leak-free before closing any access points.

Replace What's Needed

We don’t recommend replacing an entire system when only a section needs attention. Honest scope assessment saves you money.

FAQ

How do I know if my drains need to be replaced or just cleaned?

A drain camera inspection answers this definitively. If a camera reveals heavy scale buildup that cleaning won't fully remove, cracked or shifted pipe sections, or root intrusion, replacement is warranted. If the pipe is structurally sound and just has a blockage, cleaning is sufficient.

Cast iron drains were standard in homes built before approximately 1975. They last 50-100 years in good conditions but accumulate scale over decades and eventually corrode from the outside in. ABS and PVC plastic drains replaced cast iron from the 1970s onward — they don't corrode but can crack and shift with home settlement.

A single section replacement under a sink or in a specific area is typically a half-day job. A more extensive drain replacement project — multiple sections or a floor stack — can take one to two days depending on scope and access.

It depends on where the drain runs. We keep access points as small as possible and always discuss access requirements with you before starting. For basement drain work, concrete cutting may be required.
